Dan Esty joins the Rexel Foundation’s Executive Committee
Dan Esty, Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy, at Yale University, has become an Executive Committee member of the Rexel Foundation for a better energy future. Joining two other independent experts and members of the Executive Committee, Jana Revedin, Architect, Founder and Curator of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture and Ernst Worrell, Professor of ‘Energy, Resources & Technological Change’ at the Copernicus Institute at the University of Utrecht, Dan Esty brings many years of expertise in energy, environment and sustainability issues within governmental, business and academic organizations.

Biographies
Dan Esty is the Hillhouse Professor at Yale University with appointments in both the Environment and Law Schools. He also serves as the Director of the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy and on the Board of the Center for Business and the Environment at Yale, which he founded in 2006. Professor Esty is the author or editor of ten books and dozens of articles on environmental protection, energy, and sustainability — and their connections to policy, corporate strategy, competitiveness, trade, and economic success. His prizewinning volume, Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage, has recently been named the top-selling “green business” book of the past decade. From 2011 to 2014, Professor Esty served as Commissioner of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection where he earned a reputation for bringing fresh thinking to both energy and environmental policymaking, including such innovations as the launch of Connecticut’s first-in-the-nation Green Bank and “LEAN” restructuring of all of Connecticut’s environmental permitting programs to make the state’s regulatory framework lighter, faster, and more efficient and effective. Prior to taking up his Yale Professorship in 1994, he served in a variety of senior positions at the US Environmental Protection Agency and was a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, DC.
Jana Revedin is an architect PhD and holds the Professorship of Architecture and Design at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden. In 1996 she founded her own architectural practice, which specializes in sustainable architecture and urban renewal. In 2007 she became the Founder and Curator of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture. Jana Revedin serves as scientific delegate to UNESCO and is member of the International Union of Architects Education Commission.
Ernst Worrell (Ph.D.) is Professor ‘Energy, Resources & Technological Change’ in the Copernicus Institute at Utrecht University. He is a Nobel Prize for Peace 2007 Laureate, Coordinating Lead Author for Industry Chapter of the IPCC (The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Fourth Assessment Report: Climate Change 2007 (AR4). He is author of four IPCC reports. He is (co-) author of over 250 publications. He is Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Resources, Conservation and Recycling, one of the leading journals in the field of resources efficiency, associate editor of Energy, the International Journal and of Energy Efficiency, and the Encyclopedia of Energy.
