Rexel supports Global Compact, for a socially responsible economy

Rexel has been a supporter of the Global Compact, an initiative implemented by the United Nations, since December 2011.

This initiative, which brings together companies, governments, professional organisations, and non-governmental organisations, is designed to offer a more social, ecological and ethical notion of globalisation.

By signing the Global Compact, Rexel is giving a commitment to comply with and promote the ten key principles of the Compact in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Officially proposed in 1999 to all business leaders, the Global Compact was launched by the Secretary-General of the United Nations during his speech to the World Economic Forum in Davos and entered its operational phase in July 2000. The Global Compact now counts many thousands of participants, spread over more than 100 countries.

Rexel has made this commitment as it is keen to contribute to a more socially responsible global economy.
