The Energy Transition Game

Understanding energy, questioning our choices, and working together to imagine the solutions of tomorrow.

In the face of climate change, the energy transition affects us all. But in order to take action, we first need to understand what’s at stake.

That is why the Rexel Foundation created the Energy Transition Game, an educational, fun, and accessible tool that helps explore key questions related to energy: Where does it come from? How do we use it? What solutions can help reduce our consumption and emissions? What choices must we make as a society?

Through a card game that combines questions, discussions, and challenges, participants expand their knowledge, compare their perspectives, and discover concrete courses of action.

A game for learning and sharing

The Energy Transition Game invites participants to test their knowledge and explore four major themes:

• Sources: Where does energy come from?
• Uses: How do we use energy?
• Solutions: How can we consume less and reduce emissions?
• Impacts & Choices: Why is the energy transition necessary, and what trade-offs does it involve?

Two difficulty levels - Beginner and Advanced - allow the game to be tailored to the participants’ knowledge and age.

Beyond just getting the right answers, the game encourages dialogue, collective thinking, and an understanding of the diverse environmental, economic, and social issues related to the energy transition.

A tool dedicated to the common good

Convinced that education is one of the key drivers of the energy transition, the Rexel Foundation has decided to make this game available to as many people as possible.

By enabling organizations, schools, training institutions, local governments, businesses, and citizens to take ownership of this initiative, the Foundation aims to help foster a shared culture of energy and empower everyone to better understand the changes that need to be made.

Because every moment of realization can become the starting point for action.

About the Rexel Foundation

In the face of climate change, the energy transition can only be achieved through the mobilization of civil society as a whole. Individual and collective behaviors, skills, and ways of producing, consuming, and living are at the heart of this transformation.

In line with the Rexel Group’s commitments, the Rexel Foundation for Energy Progress, established in 2013 under the auspices of the Fondation de France, works to promote education on the energy transition.

Its mission is twofold:

• promote training for careers in the energy transition ;
• raise awareness among as many people as possible about these issues in order to encourage them to take action.

Through its partnerships and educational resources, it aims to empower everyone to understand the energy transition and take part in it.
