Rexel recognized among the 2026 Clean200™ ranking of companies leading the way in clean energy solutions

Green finance underpins the energy transition by directing funds away from fossil fuel companies and toward innovative, “cleaner” enterprises. That’s why numerous rankings and systems have emerged over the last decades to help investors identify the most sustainable organizations.

Among these is the Clean200™, described by its founders as “a list of 200 publicly traded companies that are leading the way with solutions for the transition to clean energy.” This global ranking is produced by As You Sow, a U.S.-based leader in shareholder advocacy, and Corporate Knights, a sustainable-economy media and research organization, with the aim of enabling individuals to “research companies that are effectively balancing people, planet, and profit.”

The top 200 listed companies for clean revenues

First calculated in 2016, the Clean200™ ranks the largest public companies by “clean revenues” in U.S. dollars, which means the portion of their income aligning with the Corporate Knights Sustainable Economy Taxonomy (CKSET). To be eligible, companies must earn more than 10% of its revenues from clean sources – i.e., products and services that are “sustainability-aligned.” They must also avoid “red flags,” such as being involved in fossil fuels, deforestation, weapons, private prisons or thermal coal, or having a record of obstructing climate policy. Companies’ overall ESG performance, however, is not assessed.

Rexel is one of the 12 French companies included in the 2026 Clean200™ list, ranking 120th among the 200 companies in 10 sectors selected from 8,229 assessed companies worldwide. Currently operating in 17 countries, Rexel has made its purpose “electrifying solutions that make a sustainable future possible,” working with suppliers, partners and customers to support innovation and accelerate the energy transition.

In addition to its extensive range of products, solutions and services, the Group distributes a “Sustainable Selection” of more than 150,000 best-in-class products, and offers innovative tools like the Carbon Tracker platform and the EcoScore product ratings, which all help customers make more informed decisions in line with sustainability goals. Last year, Rexel also launched the Sustainability Shapers, a new program designed by Rexel to champion sustainability and further accelerate the energy transition in collaboration with top suppliers.
