Rexel highlights its progress in turning sustainability ambitions into actions with a measurable impact, accelerating progress in its own operations and across the value chain.
Based on 2025 data, our new sustainability brochure demonstrates through concrete facts and figures how Rexel’s sustainability roadmap is supporting its Axelerate 2028 strategy, aimed at multiplying the value brought to stakeholders, from customers, employees and shareholders to suppliers, partners and local communities worldwide. From reducing by 42% its Scopes 1 & 2 emissions vs. 2016, to its Responsible Supplier Charter covering 82% of direct purchases or 86% of employees receiving training, Rexel Group delivers strong progress against sustainability targets.
To this end, Rexel’s sustainability roadmap focuses on three key priorities – people, partners, planet – built on a foundation of strong ethics & compliance, with a detailed action plan and key performance indicators. Implemented throughout the company, this roadmap reflects the conviction that long-term performance depends on responsible business practices, trusted relationships and the ability to deliver progress at scale.
Rexel demonstrates tangible progress made on the journey toward Net Zero 2050. The results illustrate clear acceleration, driven by consistent efforts across the organization to reduce carbon emissions: Scopes 1 & 2 emissions have decreased by 42% compared to 2016, thanks to more efficient sites, electrified operations, and increased use of renewable energy. And Scope 3** emissions have fallen 38% vs. 2016, reflecting stronger supplier partnerships, a more sustainable product mix and countries’ decarbonized energy mix.
To truly inspire and lead by example, Rexel also underlines the importance of driving change from within. In 2025, the vast majority of surveyed employees agreed that the company was environmentally responsible (87%) and customer focused (79%), while workplace accidents dropped by 10%. A total of 86% of employees received training to support their career and personal development, and women occupied nearly a third (32%) of leadership positions in Rexel’s traditionally male-dominated industry.
At the same time, Rexel reinforced its cooperation with partners, with around 80% of suppliers committing to its Sustainable Supplier Charter, and nine top suppliers joining its new Sustainability Shapers program to raise awareness of sustainability issues, promote the latest eco-friendly technologies and launch innovative circularity initiatives.
With these and other actions, the Group is pursuing its ambition of simplifying sustainable electrification to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable world.
In a context where sustainability increasingly drives business performance and resilience, our collective challenge is to turn ambitious targets into tangible results. As a leading distributor of products, services and solutions at the heart of the electrical value chain, we have both an opportunity and a responsibility to help the market transition to more sustainable solutions.
