According to Toby Heaps, CEO of Corporate Knights: “The companies in the ranking, at the time of the Covid-19 crisis, understood that environmental performance was going to be a success factor for future recovery and economic recovery strategies”. This applies to the Rexel Group, which further strengthened its environmental commitments at the height of the health crisis, notably by announcing new industrial and R&D investments, alongside a hundred or so companies united within the French Business Climate Pledge. Overall, companies will spend at least €73 billion over the period 2020-2023 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
To develop its 2021 Global 100 ranking, Corporate Knights followed a rigorous assessment of 8,080 companies with more than US$1 billion in revenues. The assessment is based on up to 24 environmental, social, financial and governance key performance indicators.
