Rexel breaks down barriers to greater electric vehicle adoption with the launch of Energeasy Drive

Capture2

Following the successful deployment of Energeasy Solar, an innovative B2C2B approach to driving the adoption of solar photovoltaic installations in Belgium, the UK and the Netherlands, Rexel has now launched Energeasy Drive in the United Kingdom, a new solution aimed at accelerating the development of the electric vehicle (EV) market.

Based on interactions with a range of players in the EV industry, Rexel identified that the main obstacle to a faster and smoother transition to EV revolved around Electric Vehicle Charging Points, most notably their availability. Energeasy Drive was launched in response to this issue.

Energeasy Drive, which can be accessed via a new online platform, is designed to help installers and end -users get on board with electric vehicle charging (EV) technology and make the most of the growing opportunity, at a time when confidence in the EV market is at its highest. Last year alone, saw UK demand for alternatively-fueled vehicles, including EVs, double.

This comprehensive solution is aimed at all players in the electric vehicle industry, including car manufacturers, EV charge point installers and end-users/drivers. It helps interested drivers identify available brands and models that match their needs, compare the return on investment of an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid with a traditional gasoline-powered car and make an informed choice for charging point infrastructure and technology. The platform also provides maps to locate nearby charging stations and puts drivers in contact with reputable EV Charging Point installers.

For installers, the Energeasy Drive platform gives them direct access to Rexel’s expert knowledge, training programs, a charging point product selector tool, and commercial financing options to offer to their customers. They can also download and complete OLEV* Homecharge grant funding applications online and benefit from an online CRM system to manage their EV Charging Point customer database.

Energeasy Drive was launched in the UK in January 2016 and will be rolled-out to other countries in the near future.

“As the fourth largest EV market in the world, experiencing rapid growth fueled by government support, the UK was a natural choice for piloting the program. With the launch of Energeasy Drive, which brings together all stakeholders in the industry, from electric vehicle and EV charge point manufacturers, to electrical installers and drivers looking to make the switch to a cleaner vehicle, Rexel is uniquely positioned to provide value to the EV industry at large. This new solution reflects our unique role in the value chain as a facilitator as well as our commitment to sustainable development and the low carbon energy transition”.
