Biographies

Rudy Provoost
Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Rexel

Rudy Provoost has been Chairman of Rexel’s Management Board and CEO since February 2012. Prior to joining Rexel, Rudy Provoost held a variety of management positions at Philips between 2000 and 2011. In 2000, he was appointed Executive Vice-President of Consumer Electronics for Europe and in 2004 he became Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Electronics division. In 2006, he was appointed member of the Management Board of Philips, before assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Lighting division in 2008 and Chairman of the Sustainability Board. Rudy Provoost started his career at Procter & Gamble (1984-1987) and held a variety of management positions at Canon (1987-1992) and Whirlpool (1992-2000). Rudy Provoost was born in 1959 in Belgium and holds degrees in Psychology and Business Administration (MBA).

Catherine Guillouard
Management Board member, CFO and Group Senior Vice-President

Catherine Guillouard has been a member of Rexel’s Management Board, CFO and Group Senior Vice-President since May 2013. Before joining Rexel, Catherine Guillouard was Chief Financial Officer of Eutelsat and a member of the Executive Committee (2007-2013). Prior to this, Guillouard held various management positions within Air France, including Deputy Vice-President of Corporate Control, Senior Vice-President of Flight Operations, Senior Vice-President of Human Resources and Change Management, and latterly, Senior Vice-President of Finance (2005-2007). Guillouard began her career in 1993 at the French Treasury working for the Ministry of Finance department in charge of the Africa - CFA zone and later in the Banking Affairs department. Born in 1965, Catherine Guillouard graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and the École Nationale d’Administration. She also holds a post-graduate degree (DESS) in European Union Law.

Pascal Martin
Management Board member and Group Senior Vice-President for Corporate Strategy, Business Portfolio Management and New Business Development

Pascal Martin has been a member of Rexel’s Management Board and Group Senior Vice-President for Corporate Strategy, Business Portfolio Management and New Business Development since April 2012. He joined Rexel in 2003 as Senior Vice-President of Business Development and Operations. Since February 2007, Pascal Martin has been a member of the Management Board of Rexel S.A. and Group Senior Vice-President for Business Development and Corporate Operations for the Rexel Group. In early 2011, he also assumed responsibility for the Group’s Latin American operations. Pascal Martin joined Rexel from Guilbert France, where he was CEO (2001-2003) and Chairman of the Management Board of the Guilbert Group (2002-2003), part of the Kering group of companies (formerly PPR). Prior to this, he held a variety of management positions at Steelcase, including Chief of Group Operations for Steelcase S.A. International (1992-2000), Group Human Resources Director (1993-1999), CEO of Steelcase Strafor France and President of Steelcase International (1999-2000). Pascal Martin started his career in 1981 with Renault France where he held several positions in the fields of production and technical services. Born in 1957, Pascal Martin holds an engineering degree from ENSAM and is a graduate of ICG.

Sharon MacBeath
Group Senior Vice-President, Human Resources

Sharon MacBeath has been Senior Vice-President for Human Resources for the Rexel Group since November 2013. Sharon MacBeath joined Rexel from Redcats, part of the Kering group of companies (formerly PPR), where she was Senior Vice-President for Human Resources and Communication (2005-2013). Prior to that, she worked with the Rexam group as Human Resources Director of the Beauty and Pharmaceutical division. Sharon MacBeath has worked in France in the field of human resources since 1991 when she founded EMDS Consulting, which specialized in the recruitment, selection and development of young, professionals with an international profile. Sharon MacBeath was born in Scotland in 1969. She holds a BSc (Honors) in Psychology and Management Studies from Glasgow University, a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Sorbonne University, and an EMBA from INSEAD.

Pascale Giet
Group Senior Vice-President, Communications and Sustainable Development

Pascale Giet has been Group Senior Vice-President for Communications and Sustainable Development for Rexel since August 2010. She is also Vice-Chairman of the Rexel Foundation for a better energy future. Giet joined Rexel from Europ Assistance where she was Senior Vice-President for Group Communications (2004-2010), and Senior Vice-President for Corporate Social Responsibility (2006-2010). Prior to this, Giet held various management roles in the telecommunications industry, including Vice-President for Communications of TDR (1994-1997), part of Vivendi Universal, Advertising Director at Cegetel (1997-1999), Vice-President for Communications at e-TF1 (1999-2001) and Senior Vice-President for Communications at 9 Telecom (2001-2004), part of thePirelli Group in 2001. Pascale Giet started her career in healthcare advertising for the Expand Group, before managing the communications of ComDev, a subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts. Pascale Giet was born in 1962, is a graduate of INSEAD and holds a Master’s degree in Political and Social Communications from Sorbonne University.

Peter Hakanson
Group Senior Vice-President, Operations

Peter Hakanson has been Group Senior Vice-President Operations since July 2012. Prior to joining Rexel, Hakanson held a variety of senior executive positions at Philips, which he joined in 2004 as Vice-President of Global Quality for Consumer Electronics, before moving to the Philips Consumer Lifestyle division as Vice-President of Quality, Six Sigma and Sustainability. In 2008, he was promoted to Senior Vice-President and Head of Supply Chain and Quality for Philips Lighting, before assuming the role of Chief Supply Officer for Philips Lighting in December 2009. From 1994 to 2004, Hakanson worked for GE Healthcare (formerly General Electric Medical Systems) in leadership positions in Sourcing, Pricing and Margin Management, and Six Sigma initiatives based out of Paris, Milwaukee and Tokyo. Prior to this, he was a representative of the Swedish delegation to the European Union (1992 to 1994). Peter Hakanson started his professional career working in industrial and quality management at Volvo Truck. Born in 1962, Peter Hakanson holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Linkoping Institute of Technology in Sweden and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

Senior Vice-President, Southern Europe

Patrick Berard has been Senior Vice-President Southern Europe since 2007. He joined Rexel in 2003 as Senior Vice-President for Rexel France, becoming Senior Vice-President for Southern Europe (including France, Italy, Spain and Portugal) in 2007. He assumed additional responsibility for Belgium and Luxembourg in 2013. Before joining Rexel, Berard was CEO of Pinault Bois & Matériaux (2002-2003), part of the Kering group of companies (formerly PPR). Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Antalis (Arjo Wiggins) (1999 to 2002) and from 1988 to 1999 he held various management positions at Polychrome, including General Manager and Vice-President for Europe and Executive Committee member of Kodak Polychrome Graphics. From 1980 to 1987, Berard worked as a consultant for McKinsey before moving to Thomson as Strategic Development Director for Industry and Engineering. Patrick Berard began his career in 1978 at the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada. Patrick Berard was born in 1953 and holds a Doctorate in Economics.

Michel Klein
Senior Vice-President, Central and Eastern Europe 

Michel Klein has been Senior Vice-President for Central and Eastern Europe since October 2009 with responsibility for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe (including Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia). Before joining Rexel, Michel Klein was Group Vice-President of the Monier Group (formerly Lafarge Roofing). He joined Lafarge 1995 as Group Organization Director. He was appointed to Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge Roofing Components in 1999. In 2005, he became Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge Couverture before his promotion to Group Vice-President of the Monier Group in 2008. Michel Klein was born in 1962 and holds an MBA from ESCP-EAP as well as degrees from the Universities of Louvain and Munich.

Henri-Paul Laschkar
Senior Vice-President, Northern Europe

Henri-Paul Laschkar has held the position of Senior Vice-President for Northern Europe since January 2013, with responsibility for the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia and the Baltic States. Henri-Paul joined Rexel in 1999 as Group Senior Vice-President for Operationsbefore assuming the role of Senior Vice-President for Asia-Pacific in 2001, a role held until 2009 when he became Senior Vice-President for the UK and Ireland.Henri-Paul joined Rexel from Valeo, where he worked as Factory Operations Director and latterly, as Industrial Division Director (1990-1999). Prior to this, he held various roles at Black & Decker, including Finance and Administration Director and Operations Director (1983-1989). Henri-Paul Laschkar was born in 1957 and is a graduate of the Centre d'Etudes Supérieures Européennes de Management,Lyon (1983), France.

Chris Hartmann
Executive Vice-President and CEO USA

Chris Hartmann has been Executive Vice-President and CEO for Rexel USA since January 2008. Hartmann gained significant experience in the electrical products industry as Chief Operating Officer of Thomas & Betts (2006-2008), a leading manufacturer of electrical products, and as President of its electrical division (2003 – 2006). His prior experience had been in the field of electrical distribution in which he had held the role of President and Chief Operating Officer of Affiliated Distributors. Hartmann has also held several executive, sales, marketing and engineering positions at Rockwell Automation, AB Electrolux and General Electric. Chris Hartmann was born in 1961, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and an MBA from Marquette University.

Chairman Group Rexel Canada 

Jeff Hall has been Senior Vice President and CEO for Rexel Canada since 2005. Prior to his promotion to CEO, Jeff Hall was Vice-President of Westburne Canada (2002-2005), which was acquired by Rexel in 2000. Prior to joining Westburne in 1992, Jeff Hall worked in a variety of senior management positions in both industry and consulting. He was born in 1957 and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Mitch Williams
Senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific 

Mitch Williams has been Senior Vice-President for Rexel Asia Pacific region since January 2012. He was part of GE Supply (now Gexpro) when Rexel acquired GE Supply in 2006, where he held a variety of roles over the course of more than 20 years. Mitch Williams started his career in sales, becoming Branch Manager in 1999 and Senior Commercial Quality Executive with commercial Six Sigma in 2001. In January 2003, he was appointed Division President for the Midwest Region and had the role of General Manager for Global Sales Operations (2005-2006). In July 2006 he became Chief Commercial Director before his promotion in November 2007,to Senior Vice-President & CEO of Gexpro. Mitch Williams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M, and an MBA from California Lutheran University.
